Rules for Bingo
  Introduction

Bingo (Beano) is traditionally played in churches or halls. In a traditional bingo hall the Caller would be hosting the game. He will spin the ping pong ball in its container, draw it, and call the number and then letter both twice. The game is much like a state lottery game. Bingo rules and payouts generally vary, but the goal is the same. Players buy cards with numbers on them in a 5 x 5 grid corresponding to the five letters in the word B-I-N-G-O. All are drawn at random. Every time a combination is called, and displayed on the display board, and matches this on a players card, they either mark it will a marker, or cover the space with an object. In American Bingo there is a possible pattern of 75, and 90 in British and Australian Bingo. Once a player gets a Bingo pattern in five numbers/letter combinations in a vertical, horizontal or diagonal row on one of their cards, they have several seconds to yell BINGO. When they do, they are to go to the caller to check out the results, and then they are declared the winner. Other options for play are all the card, four corners, etc. Many cards can be played at the same time.

Card
A bingo card contains 24 numbered spaces with one free space, or blank in the middle of the card. The idea is like a free spot or joker for greater possible wins. There are 5 squares going across, and down. The numbers in the B column generally run from 1 and 15, I 16 and 30, N between 31 and 45, (here there are four spots plus the bonus blank spot), G between 46 and 60, and in the O between 61 and 75, at least in American play. Players have thousands of unique cards, not any one is the same.

Online Version
When playing online, your bingo cards are randomly selected, unlike in the hall version where a player can pick their own lucky card. Most online games give players between 3 to 4 cards. Again other versions allow for the player to take more. This version of the game is the same with a caller, a display board, with number/letter combinations called. Some games will even automatically mark the cards. The online version is much like the American land version, with 75 possible combinations, including the free space on the card. Balls are drawn ever few seconds, and each game has their own patterns for wins. Some of these games or sites also offer other bonus games for play.
